We probably have all done some pretty silly things. More than once I have hand started my '36 A without opening the right hand petcock. Didn't even realize it until it started and I went around to close it and found that I had forgot to open it. Have also done that with the fuel shut off finally dawned on me after cranking more than it should have taken. Kinda like our old neighbor's tale about the time in his earlier years a neighbor pitching silage down the chute of his upright silo looked up and saw the clouds moving by and thought the silo was falling over and jumped down the chute.
