I was still in training back then and was not sure if i would even be home for Christmas , i went in on July 7th 1966 and with no leave after basic and straight into airborn and after jump school into ranger training every day folded into the next . They did let half of us go for Christmas but had to be back by Dec 30th and back to training and that went on till May 67 when i got 13 days leave to come home before shipping out to Nam. And i did not get my 66 Mercury Comet Cyclone that i wanted . I had to wait for the 68 Road runner.
