George, I believe your buildings are properly called post FRAME buildings. True post beam buildings use heavy horizontal beams rather than trusses to support the roof.
I built my 30x40x10 post frame shop almost entirely by myself. My BIL helped me set the posts, and I pulled together a crew of my buddies to raise the trusses and pour concrete, but almost everthing else I did myself. It's still a work in progress, as I'm not quite done insulating it. It has a shingle roof and T1-11 siding, so it matches the house nicely.
