Andy, I pull an old bushhog/lilliston drill that is approaching that kind of weight (7000# give or take) with an IH 3088, so about 80-90HP and weighs 10,000+ lbs. we have hills here and it does ok for us. Our drill is an 18 hole drill, yours will probably have a few more which could need a bit more power but I typically can run 4-5 mph all day with ours no problem. how deep you need to plant will also affect how much power/traction you will need. Around here (swPa) forage/grass/cover crops are usually seeded pretty shallow, 1/2 or less so less power needed. If you sink it deeper, say for beans 1 1/2 - 2 of course harder pull need more umhpah to get it done. Hope this helps some, Paul. I should add this is a no-til drill.
