Take the wire off the coil that goes to the points. Check again. If you have power on the coil now, you are losing it to ground between there and the points. On a Delco distribuitor, the insulating block where the coil wire connects on the distribuitor is probably shorting out.
If you don't have power at the coil after you take the wire off, you need to check the coil with an ohm meter. It is rare for a new coil to be bad, but not unheard of.
