dads 52 A john deere was used hard. only trouble i remember is the steering gear. but was used on loader and cultivator a lot. my own best tractor is my 52 vac. traded a holstien calf for it with engine apart. neighbot was an old school case mechanic n he showed up next day after i got it home. new 300 sleeves piston set new 300 lp head new crank and bearings. i tried to pay him. all he wanted was to build another stout vac. i used it daily when i milked. now it pulls my 6 ft finish mower that same guy would come down n ask which case is running poorly from setting,i got a tall vac and a 312 also that would get winter lack of use sydrome. he would get 1 work his garden n return it running like new. only way i could pay him was to haul a steer to his acreage n say let him mow your acreage turn that grass ito tasty beef. i gave him 1 every year up to when he died. miss him lots too. about as much as dad. both of em sat back n tractor talked lots
