THANKS for the aditional information. The leg guards just look likeplastic in the picture and that is why I wondered if modified. Did not know steel could be molded like that. Sure is a nice looking tractor. Here in the states first ever heard of David Brown was the 990 tractor and that was first around here, then the 995 and 1200 that didn't seem to work out good. A neighbor bought a 990 and later traded it on a 1200 And always gave him trouble. His hired hand as soon as he could after the neighbor passed traded it on a JD. Anouther neighbor had a 990 and liked it but went bad and bought a 995 parts tractor to repair his but found out were not compatable and they sat for years, don't know if he still has them setting or not. I don't rember any 880 or 7?? tractors around but they all looked nice. Just not a diesel fan. Prefer gas. And getting bought out by Case did not help them as in my area no Case sealers and as I was growing uo the name Case was always connected to basket Case as Case tractors were not liked in my area. I am now 79 years old. My newest tractors were Ford in a 65 4100, 68 4100 and a 68 5100 But have not farmed now for several years.
