Even new reliable combines can break down. And if that happens during harvest time with a foreign machine?? How long will it be before you get back going again?? Waiting on parts to come from overseas. Depending on a service department at a dealership that might really only be there for the new equipment sales.
Even US manufacturing dealerships have gotten bad about not stocking a whole lot of parts. Quite frequently tell ya that they can have it for ya tomorrow. They can do that, have it there the next day, because the parts are only a day away. With a foreign machine, those parts won't be just a day away when coming from overseas.
That would be my concern. If I did have a breakdown during harvest time, I'd want to be back up and running again quickly.
One manufacturer could be the top one in the world. That's true. But in an area that big, thier location becomes a factor.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
