The IDPTO input shaft and the pressure plate will ware more on some then others , this depends on what all you do . Tractors used primarily for tillage and not heavy PTO work last a lot longer Like on mine i have had that ugly 806now since something like back in 94-95 and so far we have put in two clutches , one due to pulling the center out of the disc and at that time i did replace the IDPTO input as it was well woren . Then i did replace it when it went out from all the PTO work it does as it has become the go to for all the hay mowing and all the feed grinding plus brush hogging some manure hauling and spray tractor . They never seam to ware out when they are setting . Once the weather breaks i have the 1066 to do and come to think of it this is the third one on it , It does all the silage choppen and some feed grinding when the 806 is hooked to something . stop and think about it a bit and it is a wonder they last as long as they do being a dry spline running in a high dust area from clutch dust and the grindings off the flywheel and the light rust from seeting then back to running and wearing the rust off .

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
