Not an answer to any question you might be posting, just a comment about my own experience.
I have a 2000 F550 with the 4R100 behind a 7.3. I've been thinking for a couple years that the transmission is probably going to go out, but it keeps on going. It shifts kind of hard and sometimes there is a delay in the shift, almost like a double shift when pulling hard and shifting into overdrive.
I have a tune on the truck, actually two different tunes from separate companies on the same controller. With the one tune the truck will not lock up the torque converter. With the other one it will. I went back and forth with the tuners a bunch of times to get the one tune to lock up the TC, the other one never could get it to lock up. With the factory programming the TC locks up normally.
