At age 15,I was pretty busy , I was feeding the hogs and making feed for some 180 or so on the slatted floor we just put up 1970 , had 6 pens 29x 8 ft.Most times I would feed after 9 P.m. ,,,, I wanted to be clean and asleep before 10 p.m.My brother was in charge of row crops, Dad and My younger brother did the hay and truck crops/We all pitched in where ever we were needed , Including helping the girls snap beans. We made money,Always had money for whatever we wanted or needed , Never spent lavishly , Took all our meals at home or at the host farm we were working at. I was also splitting firewood 3 miles down the road at a BTOhog farmer place that would around 1980 ,end up belly up when 20 percent interest rates killed a lot of good mens spirit whenever the hogs and sows were caught up. We could amuse ourselves with the 220 electric splitter, 46tons ,LICKITY -Log Spliter, I always get decent grades in school but rarely turned in homework.I had several girls help Me catch up in study Hall, I usually tried to sleep then.
