Prices have gotten out of hand on everything . I did a ton of valve and head work and 2-250 covered a I H gas head . Valves i bought in bulk along with guides and seats way better price that i could pass on . Throw a head in the tank in the afternoon pull it out the next morning and wash it off check it throw it on the head grinder and dress it ,drive the old guide out push the new in then look the sets over and replace the ones that were toast do a three angle run the valves across the grinder clean them stick them in and give a hand lap put the springs on and out the door before noon and i did not start work at the crack of dawn. The hardest part was getting the head set up in the grinder . I preferred my buddy's Van Norman over the old Storm Valcan we had . Dick's was way faster , set the head down on four feeler gauges and check them to see what one pulled out a quick tap to balance and clamp it down and turn it on set the travel and rate of down and walk away , when done the machine shut down . No standing over it baby setting and adjusting .
