Been to a few plow days; no plow competitions around here that I have heard about. Our club held a couple of plow days that I attended, then one year it was too wet, next year it was too dry. Last year I attended one plow day about 45 miles from me (central Kansas). I had talked to the guy who sponsors it and kept up with the info he put out on facebook. The sponsor is a Case guy and along with his son had 3-4 tractors with plows there. I took my JD R and 3-16 JD plow. There was one allis crawler pulling a 2 bottom, one oliver pulling a 3 bottom, one JD G pulling a 3 bottom, one MM, one IHC with a 5 bottom semi-mount, and a couple of Cases. We had a great time in my opinion. Witnessed some of the people having a few problems, i.e., plow not staying in the ground. It was terribly dry so that could be expected. Most of them didn't have much staying power as they would make a round or two and then sit out for an hour or so. Granted, it was a very hot day and I did take a few minute break a time or two for a cool drink. I think I plowed more acres than all the others combined because of their inconsistency. Not complaining, just commenting. The sponsors of the day provided lunch at no cost so I donated before I left and told them how much I had enjoyed the event. I hope to go again this year, maybe take a JD D. You can check them out at Michaelis Family Plowdays on facebook. Go to Dec 2022 and see some videos of their fall plow day.

Today's Featured Article - Hydraulics - Cylinder Anatomy - by Curtis von Fange. Let’s make one more addition to our series on hydraulics. I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
