I have a M135 GX, I bought it new with the 51 Kubota loader in I think 2014, and it has been an absolutely great trouble free tractor. And it has just over 3000 hours now. In 2018 I bought another ne Kubota tractor the same size ,M6 141. The M6 required DEF. While I always enjoyed operating this tractor as it was as virtually identical to my 135 Kubota, it was a constant pain in the backside with the DEF system. The injection manifold had to be replaced twice, the heater for the DEF failed and caused some kind of dead short within the electrical system, eventually killing the battery to the point it had to be replaced. And the Electronic Control Module failed, and left me stranded on the side of the road with a hay mower on the back of the tractor. The repair on that was close to 5 grand with service call and all to get the tractor off the side of the road. I dealt the tractor off just a month ago on a used tractor without DEF. My Kubota had only 2,400 hour on it. It would have had more as it was my main haying tractor, but there were times when it sat at the dealership for a week to 10 days getting the bugs worked out of the lousy DEF system. Dont get me wrong, I think the Kubota tractors are good tractors, but dont buy one with DEF. I also had a M100 GX with the 41 loader. Supposed to be a 100 ho tractor, but I was asking it to do too much I guess, because the bolts that hold the loader mount to the tractor frame snapped off while I was loading manure, bending the loader frame. That was when I traded it in on the M6 141.
I wouldnt buy a tractor smaller than the M6 series. Just my actual experience. As I said I love my M135 GX and use it everyday it is a fairly big tractor, the loader is built by Alo, just like the NH or CIH loaders. Stay clear of DEF until the systems are perfected or just take it off, but that will void warranty

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
