I've always taken heads with guides to be changed to the local automotive machine shop. The valve seats need to be cut after the guides are changed anyway because the centering of the hole in the guide won't be absolutely perfect, so I have them fit the valves too. Sometimes you can move valve guides with a hammer. You need a fitted punch to preserve the new guide. It needs to fit the hole in the guide and have a shoulder to drive the guide, otherwise you WILL bend the guide and its scrap. The height of the guide in the valve passages is critical. It should be specified in the G shop manual. Gerald
