Alot of the exchanging on stuff that actually was pre-ordered, takes place this time of year during the off season. Be interesting to know how much of that new stuff you are seeing is actually already sold. And how much of it is just dealer inventory. It'd probably suprize ya (on real big equipment) how much of that stuff is already sold. As in, it's been delivered to the dealer, but yet to be delivered to the customer. On another note, some people trade stuff back in that is not even out of warranty yet. Maybe just a year or two old. And was always shredded when not in use. When this kind of stuff returns to the dealer, and is cleaned all up, and waxed up, it often looks like a brand spanking new one. Looks no different if parked side by side with a new one. I stopped off at a dealer the other day. Got my eye on one of the combines that appeared new. Seen a number painted on it as people do when they have multiples. Figured it must of had to be a trade in since it had a number on it like that. But it sure did look like a new one. The place had about 5 combines that basically looked like new. I didn't inquire since I wasn't shopping for a combine. But I bet if I did, I wouldn't of been suprized if they told me that only one of them was actually a new one, and it was already sold.
