Well, if someone goes putting in unapproved switches, relays or solenoids, that's gonna void the warranty for the whole vehicle. I could certainly wire up a momentary contact to a solenoid between the truck start solenoid and the starter and that would do the job.
Basically, I hold both the momentary contact under the dash, while I push the start switch. Once the engine starts, I can let go the momentary contact and the start wire is open circuit. If I need to take the truck into the dealer, I have to remove all that stuff and put it back to stock.
Risk for me is very low because I'm in a low crime area. A cheaper and faster way would be to disconnect the ground lead to the battery, but then I lose the anti theft alarm, and of course the key fob won't work to open the door and I have to use the small insert key for the door, open the hood, connect the batt, get in the truck, start the engine and away I go.
