To be honest I wouldn't pay $6000 for a Hummer - let alone just the taillights for a Hummer.
Best truck I've bought in the last 5 years was a 1992 F250 with a 351 and a 5 speed. Paid $1900 for it 3 years ago and drove it a year just changing the oil. Then I spent $700 and replaced the bed that was the wrong color, the two rusted front fenders, a fuel tank and all 4 shocks. With the entire truck now Ford YO white it looked pretty good and ran like a champ. About a year after I did all that work a guy ran a stop sign and I T boned him - taking out the grill, hood, front fenders and bumper. His insurance paid me $4000 and let me keep the truck. I spent about 5 hours online looking and bought an entire front end that is Ford YO white for $400 and bought a new set of headlights. My 10 year-old helped me bolt the new front end onto the truck and it was back on the road in a week - my neighbor thought I bought another one exactly like I had.
The truck is now free and I had $1000 to buy gas and tires. Since I took the money and kept the truck the title is still clear. Not that it matters - that truck isn't going anywhere but to work.
Meanwhile my good garage queen 1999 F250SD with about 1/3 the mileage of the 1992 had to have $3500 spent on a transmission and $130 for a starter (and other parts) - and I have yet to own it a year.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
