Wrapping up my inflame engine rebuild, and started to get things ready for tank reinstall and roll out of barn. Went to re-engage traction coupling which was not latched and could be rotated by hand CW until it stopped and CCW a full revolution. Note tractor sat for 6 years in barn motor not running not related to transmission. Since Ive had it 2007 or so, no issues other than selector did not line up well with speed number. Tractor will roll and I pulled it a short distance into barn to do engine work. I believe traction coupling was properly disengaged.
While getting ready today, I also found the selecto lever on dash wont move. I have also noticed while running engine after rebuild that there is a steady seep of fluid leaking out of SOS top cover.
I have the IT FO-13 manual. Read through that on SOS, man a lot of info there.
Not sure where to start. My plan when I saw fluid was to remove top cover and check gasket, but after catching the traction coupling adjustment as it is I thought Id remove that inspection plate to look see. After reading through the manual I decided I needed to research a little more before starting to pull things apart. I believe tractor is a 1962 971-5 #160625 gasser. Machine has not been worked much by me, original owners bought it almost brand new and last part of its life with then was lived as a loader machine for manure. Loader is strong and not powered by a front end PTO drive pump.
Regret such a long description-and thanks fir any insight. I rebuilt it with the plan for my son to have a reliable loader tractor at his place. Itll never see 100 hours per year.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
