ok, i saw your massey tractor a bit down here. well there is a lot more than putting it in gear and opening the throttle. plus i presume its the antique pulls which i do here. do you have fluid in the tires? what is your tractor weight? you need to match the tractor to the class so you have even competition. i also presume your in class one, 4000-4999 lbs. but you might be in bantams class under 4000 lbs. which i think you are. you need to weighted up with fluid or wheel weights. always to the maximum in class. plus tire pressure ,... run about 6-8 lbs. plus depends on track condition. soft track less pressure. use your throttle, it will be nothing but low gear as 2nd gear u will power out. start out slow and keep increasing your speed as the tractor pulls down making sure you dont break traction. just takes practice. 2 different people on the same tractor makes a difference, as experienced and inexperienced. and how far did you pull and against what tractors. all info comes into effect. and how many tractors in that class?
