The Thompson Products power steering pumps have been discussed several times on this site. One earlier thread included pictures that showed both the Thompson and Eaton pumps.
I am not familiar with the Thompson Products Co power steering pumps, so I did some research. Thompson Products Co was incorporated in 1901. In 1958 it was merged into Thompson Ramo Woolridge (later shortened to TRW Inc.)
I would suspect that a pump labeled Thompson Products P-1072 was not made much after the 1958 merger. Somewhat similar looking TRW power steering pumps were used by a number of automotive companies from the late 1950's through the 1970's. It appears that most of the later pumps had higher pressure and/or volume than were used in the early Ford tractors.
I found some information a Cardon 96-6051 power steering pump is nearly identical to the Eaton pumps used on Ford tractors, but a person would need to find a reservoir and mounting bracket from an original Eaton pump to use the Cardon.
