I didn't try the grease. I can try that. I couldnt get it to stay with oil so I just put it on the housing. I kept checking with a flashlight to be sure it wasn't getting caught and using a screw driver to tuck it back in place as it sealed. I spun the housing right before I snugged it up to be sure it was seating good too. You think I could have tightened the filter cover too tight?
