I helped a neighbor get a Farmall Cub running. He really should have repaired the original carburetor but opted to buy a cheap one from China. He put the China one on and it was very hard to start and secondly the float/needle valve would not shut the fuel off. He got the ebay seller to send another one. I finally found the problem with it starting. When it was being made in China a drill bit must have broken off in the CNC machine and a hole was not drilled for the starting circuit to work properly. Thousands may have been shipped without this hole. I believe it has been mentioned on several internet sites. Also, the float/needle valve were on a bind and would not properly close the fuel inlet. Once I drilled a hole for the starting circuit and lined the float/needle valve up it would run. It would have been much better if he would have fixed the original.
