You guys are great i sure appreciate all the help and info. If i get this rebuilt it will be only the 3ed motor i have ever rebuilt and the 1st diesel, so I m just a diesel newbie.
I currently have the following manuals;
Tractor - JD300 Series PC-972
Technical Manual - 1068
Manual T42365
Catalog 3169
The casting number in the block is ; T26935 or T26S35
The only tag i found so far is ; SNT 4W3D 022051T
i have not been able to find anything on the net using those two for serial numbers. I think there may also be a tag for the loader and one for the hoe but i figure those are for the attachments.
Injectors are directly into the cylinder.
That what i know so far, just started on it a few days ago.
I will check out your resources to see if there are some books i don t have, and once again thank you so much for your help.
Do i have to remove the loader to split the thing to get the block out

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
