I would like to add a backup camera to my 2000 F550 to make it easier to hook up to a bumper pull trailer. I've tried a couple wireless ones that create a wifi signal and show the image via an app on a phone; however, those have not worked very well, maybe because of poor signal issues getting through a load on my bed or maybe just poor quality merchandise, who knows. I have one that mounts via a magnet and is wireless, it works fine as long as the camera and phone are close together, but get the camera 10-15 feet away, or through a load on the truck and it cant pick up the signal.
Anyway, I was wondering if there is one that still hooks up to a phone, but via a wired USB connection instead of wireless. I could mount the camera at the back of the truck and run the wire into the cab and plug it into my phone as needed to get hooked up. I've searched online but am only finding a camera to mount on a computer or a borescope/endoscope style of camera. I wasn't sure a borescope style would work very well as I'm thinking the angle might be too small to be practical.
I could buy an aftermarket radio that comes with a camera, but those are quite a bit of money.
Have any of you done something like this to an older vehicle? Any recommendations for me?

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
