for cheaper parts get a ford 3000... you will never regret it. The two stage clutch means... that if you push it half ways down, you can shift up or down a gear, while your baler is still going. If you push it to the floor board, both clutches disengage so your tractor stops and your pto stops... when you NOT using your pto, you can simply move the clevis on the clutch pedal to the second position so you have a nice low, and comfortable clutch pedal. bEING able to gear up or down is important as on the corners the windrows a bigger and you need to slow down,, then back on the straights you have thinner windrows, and you can bale faster.. but you get to keep the baler running as you go through these gear changes, and not take a chance of clogging the baler or having load problems getting it back up to speed full of hay. Anyone who does not like a live or independent pto does not know how to use it correctly or quick adjust the clutch pedal on the ford. A 3000 would be a 47 hp tractor the new way. A MF50 (older series)was 42.2 the new way but with a 6 spd trans. A MF150 at 45.5 hp the new way, (same years as the ford 3000) assuming 8 spd option.
