i have not taken the block out yet (to protect the clutch housing area until after cleaning). my documentation (PC-972) shows only one 'Clutch Disconnect and Flywheel (with reverser)' all others say 'without reverser' except for one that says ' with continuous driven pto'. this tractor does not have a pto in the back like a farm tractor but the hydraulic pump turns when the motor runs and is driven off front of motor.
just to get it thru my dense head, the 'clutch packs' you are referring to are the ones between the motor and transmission?
the clutch disks are listed as; AT21669 , AT24059
and I'm thinking i want to check and make sure the brakes are in good order also ....
and yes i agree with those worried about the jacking and cribbing. i would not get under there or send anyone else under there the way it is. it is only set for cleaning and will be properly supported after cleaning to actually work on it, however neither of the two 20 ton jacks that are actually holding it up showed up in the pictures
'with / without reverser' knowing nothing about this terminology does that mean some of these tractors were built with a reverse capability?

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
