A few years ago I came back home here to find a younger fellow with his once nice 4x4 pickup in the road ditch. The ditch was a mess where he had tried to keep going. His comment was 'I almost got out'! He was clueless. At no time did he almost get out. And the side of his truck was a mess. He looked old enough he should have been on his own. But it sure seemed like a situation where mommy and daddy were providing the goods. If he had let off, and stopped, damage to the truck would have been minimal. Once when I was delivering fuel, a snow plow forced me off the road on a curve. It was either slice the left front of the fuel truck into the vertical cutting edge of the one way plow, or the ditch. When I slid into the ditch, the empty fuel truck rolled onto its side! Once extracted, I drove it off without any damage.
