I bought a 3910 predecessor to the 30. It has lots of upgrades over my 3000 and to say that they are similar is a disservice to the former. One thing I will say is that when I bought it it had the horizontal muffler and made a lot of racket. Replacing the little oval OEM muffler under the left foot rest didn't change a thing.
Looked up a vertical exhaust system and replaced the original. Still noisy and i was standing by it one day and noticed that the long oval muffler's sides (that that I thought would fix the noise problem) were vibrating and generating noise on their own.
My 3000 has a round vertical muffler which I bought since it was quiet, with a short angled extension (I added) pointed away from me. I can now just about work that tractor with no ear protection. The 0.2 piston diameter increase isn't properly balanced, or its taxing the block which has braces like the 3000 or better but it is significantly noisier.
The other thing is that over 1600 RPM vibrations increase exponentially. My machine is in no way worn out.....bought it with 900 hours in an extate sale...ala old man didn't use it very much to mow his pasture.....no wear on the drawbar.
