The first thing I'd do is pull the drain plug and see if there is a bunch of water at the bottom of the differential housing. Loosen it and slowly turn it out and just when it gets to the end of the threads see if water comes out. If the seals are leaking a lot of fluid, the lube level may be too high due to water infiltration. Not saying that the seals don't need to be replaced, just that there is normally no pressure behind them and an over full condition can make them leak worse than if the level is where it should be.
