Nothing to check, really. There's only a few things it could possibly be. First is main clutch. Second is TA. Third is differential. Could be some oddball thing too like a twisted off input shaft or something coming apart inside, but you can't tell unless you have x-ray vision.
Well, I think you can see the differential if you pull the 3pt top link bracket off.
Even in a complete hydraulic failure, the tractor should still drive if the TA unit is in good working order. Only the direct drive side of the TA is dependent on hydraulic pressure. The low side is mechanically driven by an overrunning clutch and will still pull the tractor.
Need to get the tractor into a shop and start pulling it apart until the problem is found. Luckily everything I mentioned above starts with a split at the clutch housing so it's not like you'll be taking anything apart unnecessarily. Split it and see if the clutch is bad. If the clutch checks out, move on to the TA.
Does the tractor grind if you try to shift it with your foot off the clutch pedal?

I credit my parents for instilling a lot of good values, a respect for learning, a knowledge of various skills and a little knowledge of farming in me, amo
