Fordson without fenders always reminds me of the story of my uncle who hurried into town to get one of the last ones made without fenders thus saving $50. He boasted about this. One day he had it running in the yard while doing something else. They were hard to start when hot. It jumped into gear (they did that) and, having no parking brake except when the clutch pedal was down, it headed straight for the silo. Front wheels hit the silo first, tractor climbed the silo, did a backflip (the no-fendered ones did that) and caught on fire. In spite of being made completely of steel the tractor burned quite well. He had to go into town again to buy a new tractor. (;>))
