Dad had a 44 back when I was just a kid. It broke the main transmission shaft so he traded it for a new 830 Case gas what a mistake for fuel consumption. The Massey would run all day on a tank full the case would use 2 tanks just blowing hay in the barn 60 gallon per day seemed high back then with gas at about 10or 15 cents a gallon. He called the dealer and they came out and weened it down to 30 per day he was happy then. And the diesel would have run on probably half that for the same work. I was just a kid so only can go by what I saw and was told on the Massey.
