The old style flip phones that folded in half were alot more convenient to carry around, and were alot more durable. It wasn't nothing at all to slip them in any pocket, and they just seemed to handle any abuse that that would lead to other than getting wet.
I had a flip phone to start out, and was reluctant to go to something else. But I was forced to when mine crapped out, and couldn't buy something similar.
I went to a large flip phone after that. The upper half was a touch screen when open. But that wasn't really the way to go. It was to big to go in some pockets, and the screen was much smaller than a full size touch screen phone. But I made due with it until it crapped out.
Then I just made the plunge, and went with a full size touch screen, with no flip.
I use the internet more than talk/test. And that sure is nice on the bigger touch screen.
I think internet use was the down fall of flip phones. They just weren't convenient for that. Probably the only people now that would still prefer a flip phone, are the ones that don't use thier phone for internet use at all what so ever. And that probably isn't to many people.
If you use the internet at all, you'll come to like the phone that you got.
