my brother built a splitting stand. 6 inch long 2.5 or 2.25 inch tubbing with flat iron welded to the side. slots in the flat iron so you can bolt it to the tractor frame. One on each side. then a long tubing that could reach the floor went through that tubing. he welded nuts on the side and threaded rod to adjust it. that way you could tighten each side up for exact pressure. always bolted to the front part of tractor. then a floor jack under the back end front and back and floor jack could roll to roll the back end away. I wish I had a pic of it as it split many a tractor and was used through out the neighborhood.
