The process of just purchasing adapters was my original thought. I was advised that an adapter for NPT to ORB was not available. If they are available, all I would need is a short hose to run from working port on p40 valve to the existing tee currently used for the lift cylinders and a little modification for the tank/return line, adding a tee to connect the unused port. That sounds much too simple. I don't have any leaks on my hydraulics hoses, cylinders or connections at all. It's just the old dearborn valve leaks internally. I searched for a rebuild kit on the valve but I think its obsolete. If anybody knows of a kit available, pls advise. I was advised that the valve internal clearances are most likely wore and a kit would not completely repair the drifting, or internal leakage....which makes sense. This post has been most helpful. I'll try to connect with a NAPA locally that has a service rep that has the knowledge to advise on adapters. JIC fittings doesn't work with NPT threads, do they?

If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep.
