My experience with Seafoam is; it wont't clean a gummed up carb., but once it is clean, makes a world of difference keeping it clean. Especially for things that sit a lot. As for top tier gas: My 2000 Audi TT is supposed to run 95 octane gas (owners manual doesn't mention top tier). Around me, 95 octane is not very common (don't recall ever seeing it). It has been running fine on 93 octane (any tier) for the 10 years I've owned it. When I had it out west, there were places I could only get 89 or 91 octane. I was OK for an occasional fill up, but definitely did not like a steady diet of either. BTW this car isn't driven in the winter and gets Seafoam in the final fill up of the year. My 49 Pontiac gets Seafoam in every tank and only recreational fuel.
