Sounds like the local mechanic here who put over 15 quarts of oil in my gas engine because he thought it was a diesel. Hope your customer got it straightened out before his engine went up in flames.
Odd how some old cars achieve "cult status" while others just fade away or pop up from time to time as an oddity. The Citroen 2CV is one such example, prices just keep climbing here in the USA.
I came across this strange engine from Commer--the "Commer Knocker" is its nickname. I can think of better things to call an engine. Opposed 2 cylinder motor but pistons share the same cylinder, meet at the top of the stroke.
