here is a little info,... i make sure the pickup slip clutch stops turning when it hits a green wade . no matter how easy u try and ease into it, it grabs it and stops the pickup. i just hate the thought of unplugging the cylinder one straw at a time. i am quite impressed with this 300 ford 6 cylinder running it. handles the combine pretty good. my massey 850 got a rest this year , just bought this one this fall on the neighbor's auction . not used for 20 years or so. it was to be my backup , but wanted to try it out as it has way longer cleaning sieves than the massey. but it sure likes its gas. used darn near 4 barrels of gas to combine 85 acres of wheat, which is darn near 1k for fuel. the 354 massey perkins is a fuel sipper compared to this one.
