If I understand the codes correctly I have a 1969 Ford 3000 industrial tractor with a 540 PTO and a 6/4 manual reversing transmission.

Here is my conundrum: During an engine rebuild, I needed to change the clutch throw out bearing. In researching the transmission diagrams, this model tractor did not have a 12 inch clutch assembly, an internal return spring, a self greasing assembly and a very large throw out bearing, which is apparently obsolete. The transmission resembles either a 3500, 4000 or 5000 tractor transmission. The throw out bearing is O.D. 4 5/16; I.D. 2 1/4 and 1 5/16 wide and the hub is 4inches long. There has to be a viable solution but, most of my solutions come up a pallet of bricks to short. Would it be possible to change the size of the pressure plate and disc plate from a 12" to a more standard size? That would also come with a throw out bearing that would fit the pressure plate.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
