sad case with fatality. technically the combine operator would be at fault.
no matter what you're driving, a VW bug or a house down the road, you can NOT cross the center line. if you cannot proceed without crossing the centerline and there is traffic in the other lane you must pull over and wait for traffic to clear. yeah it would suck driving like that but you have no right to be in the other lane of traffic.
around here there are a lot of doublewide manufactured houses built. those guys are on the road as soon as its officially sun rise even though it may still be dark out. THey never yeild to oncoming traffic. often their flag cars will pull into oncoming traffic to stop traffic so the house can turn onto the road. the house pullers also rarely stop at stopsigns and their flag cars run them right behind them. they are a different breed.
a couple years ago a oversize/wide truck was running at night and hit a car oncoming and killed the driver and maybe the passenger as well as they could not see the load hanging over the line.
