The newer ones are offered with what they call Terra Tracs. A molded rubber belt that can run on all surfaces. The older ones like pictured want to be run on softer surfaces. I would guess the one pictured is mid-late 80s vintage.
Mostly meant to carry supplies and crew to job sites, they can do some towing, but there are better suited machines out there for that. Drivetrain on the older ones was Dodge/Chrysler components similar to a comparable vintage pickup.
