Didnt know we had so many RF nerds on this site. Once upon a time I held an FCC 1st Class Radio Telephony License. They were later all revised to a non-expiring General Class License back in the 80s or 90s. If you had one, Im sure it was demeaning to you when got a meaningless General Class License because, particularly if you had a 1st Class. Because you would have studied hard, as I did to pass the 2nd class, 1st class and radar endorsement tests. Not much studying for the 3rd class which was the license required if you were a DJ at a station back in the day and a perquisite to taking the 2nd class test. I am proud to say I was one of the few who passed each test the first time I took them back in the 70s.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
