Down here where a BTO is maybe 10k mostly leased acreage, he uses bags for chlpped forage....corn in the tassle stage (best I can tell) cut green and stored in the bags. Rumor has it that the bag prevents the crop from being exposed to oxygen and that preserves it for winter time feeding. Like the ones being discussed here, it is much better for them than huge open spaced, concrete floored, barns, in cost, loading and unloading/shipping efforts......plus works with varying crop volumes.
