They generally have a three letters followed by the SN.
The first letter = the type of chassis. S = a Standard Chassis. I'm not sure what letters are used for other types of chassis. The second letter indicates the type of fuel/engine, such as G for gasoline, D for diesel, and H for gas/high altitude configuration. The third letter indicates type of clutch: F for single, M for dual clutch. Maybe someone else out there has additional information.
