Something to think about. When a pto shaft is running at operating speed (540 rpm), the shaft would be travelling a linear distance of around 4.5 to 5 feet per second. The average arm is about 2.5 feet long. The average reaction time is about .75 to 1 second. Even at .75 seconds, the shaft would travel about 3.5 feet. That is enough to wrap you up. It is just best to stay clear away from any turning part with lose clothes on. I know it is hard to do, even I admit I find myself too close too often. A machine has no conscience.
