Dick, make sure the cables are heavy enough. Too many times light cables that may work fine on a 12 volt system are installed on a 6 volt system and starting problems are encountered. Remember, a 6 volt system takes much more current to do the job of turning a starter. Also, the connections must be perfectly clean and tight. Good luck--ray
