we do a lot of our mowing in the evening too. Next morning's first rays of sun start drying it. sugar and energy are highest at day's end and its when I have the most time. I make it a point to quit by ten so as not to disturb neighbors. So far this year I've mowed only about three acres, a dry poor growing piece because the forecast was marginal. I got it dried down in two and a half days. I'm probably the only one within thirty miles of here in southern NH who has put up any dry hay yet. and still no forecast!
