under the front of the seat is what is called a transfer plate. That must be removed and replaced with a selector valve that allows you to lock the 3-pt hitch in position and use the hydraulic flow (via an auxiliary valve) to control an external cylinder. I don't know if this valve is still available from Ford or not. My neighbor bought one ten years ago or more and it cost $350 new. You might be able to track one down at a salvage yard. A few salvage yards are in the advertizer's index at this site.
