tired of flats

I have been interested in some way to keep from getting flats. I have to cut grass, (as high as an elephants eye) that only gets cut 2-3 times a year.(With the thorns, broken glass, ect). Has anyone ever found a good way to prevent flats? Have seen different brands of sealant, (neighbor told me he ran over a deer antler, a big bubble came out, and sealed)Just tring to prepare for a new season, figured others have had the same problem......
